How Guests Pay

Guestdoors aims to make the payment process smooth and secure for both you and your guests.

Online Payments

Guests are required to pay online by card at the time of booking. To complete the booking request, your guests will:

  • Select their desired dates, number of guests, and any extras they would like to add to their stay. Guestdoors will then calculate the total price of the booking based on this configuration.
  • Proceed to the payment form, where they will enter their contact and card details.
  • Once the form is completed, we verify the payment method. If successful, we reserve the total amount of the booking on the guest's card.
  • A notification is sent to you and the guest, confirming the booking request and payment details. At this point, you have up to 7 days to confirm or reject the booking request. All booking requests submitted via Guestdoors must be manually confirmed by you.
  • Once you confirm the booking, the reserved funds are automatically captured and transferred to your connected account.

Payment Currency

Regardless of the currency of your guest's bank account, all payments are charged in your account currency. Your account currency is determined by the location of your bank. For example, if your connected bank account is located in the US, your account currency will be USD.

If your guest's bank account is in a different currency, typically their bank will handle the currency conversion, which may result in an additional small fee that the guest will have to pay. No currency conversion fees are charged to you as the host.

Card Payment Processing Fees

While Guestdoors does not charge any platform fees on your transactions, Stripe and card providers (e.g. Visa and Mastercard) will charge a small fee for each transaction. This fee depends on your business's location, the card type, and the card's country of origin. For example, if your business is in Germany and your guest pays with a consumer card from the European Economic Area, the fee will be 1.5% + €0.25. For more information, please refer to the Stripe fee structure.
